Pharmacists with BPharm, MPharm, or PharmD degrees from non-EU/EEA countries can now look forward to a more streamlined journey with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI). To qualify, candidates must be eligible to practice in their country of qualification and provide academic transcripts along with proof of professional status. While English proficiency is not mandatory for recognition, it becomes essential for first-time PSI registration.

From 2025, the process is set to be faster than ever, with the adaptation period removed, allowing direct progression through the TCQR pathway. A new Holistic Assessment decides whether you enter Path A (no exam) or Path B (exam required), giving clarity right from the start. Keep in mind, applications are valid for only 6 months, and incomplete submissions are considered invalid.

The updated fee structure includes €500 (Application – Stage 1), €1,000 (Holistic Assessment – Stage 2), €3,000 (Examination – Stage 3), and €300 (Appeal – Stage 2). Finally, every applicant must complete a Statutory Declaration, witnessed either in Ireland or at an Irish embassy/consulate abroad, ensuring full compliance with PSI regulations.
